Shaping a Sustainable Spatial Development for Mukhrani Valley
As part of the ongoing Mukhrani Valley Spatial Development Plan, two interactive workshops on Vision and Strategy were held on 9–10 September 2025 with the participation of ARUP, PMCG, CIG, SUDA (client) and other stakeholders.
The sessions focused on defining a shared vision for the valley’s future, exploring development opportunities, and addressing challenges through group discussions, SWOT analysis, and scenario planning. Participants assessed Mukhrani’s strategic role in agriculture, natural resources, transportation, logistics, tourism, and cultural heritage, while also identifying constraints such as infrastructure gaps, environmental pressures, and fragmented land use.

On the second day, participants engaged in a visioning exercise imagining Mukhrani Valley in 2040. Through interviews, group work, and plenary discussions, diverse perspectives were shared — from modernized infrastructure, vibrant agro-tourism, and industrial clusters to sustainable environmental management and community well-being.
The workshops highlighted the importance of collaboration, inter-municipal cooperation, and stakeholder engagement in shaping an integrated spatial vision. The insights gathered will inform the preparation of the Mukhrani Valley Spatial Development Plan, guiding its long-term transformation into a resilient, innovative, and sustainable region.
