Supporting the Revenue Service to Digitize its Tax and Customs System
We in association with Leavingstone recently started working on a new project aimed at establishing a unified tax and customs methodological platform to help Georgia maintain a favorable and efficient tax system, trusted by the business sector.
The project “Unified Tax and Customs Methodology Platform” is being financed by the European Development and Reconstruction Bank (EBRD) and is designed to simplify, digitize, and improve access to information on tax and customs methodology for taxpayers and economic operators by creating an online platform.
In the course of the project, PMCG with its subcontractor Leavingstone will support the Revenue Service of Georgia and develop/provide a platform, system manuals for internal and external users, as well as technical documentation and support.
During a working meeting regarding the project, Levan Kakava, Head of the Revenue Service at the Ministry of Finance, thanked the EBRD for its support and noted that the project represented an excellent example of cooperation between the public and private sectors.
PMCG is developing the platform based on the requirements set out in the project, which was implemented with the support of USAID and entailed conducting a value chain analysis of Georgia’s tax dispute reform (TDR) system as well as developing the design and technical requirements of the platform.
