Supporting Armenia’s Path Toward EU Visa Liberalization
As Armenia advances its European integration agenda and embarks on its visa liberalization journey with the European Union, learning from regional experiences is more important than ever.
To contribute to this effort, PMCG, through its spinoff PMCG Poland, presented the findings of the Study on the Implementation of the EU Visa Liberalization Action Plan (VLAP) in Georgia and Moldova at a dedicated event in Yerevan on the 13th of May. The study was conducted with the support of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS).

The event featured contributions from PMCG experts Cristina Lesnic, former Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova for Reintegration, Shalva Khutsishvili, former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Nana Tabagua, former Deputy Head of the Strategic Planning and Technological Development Department of the MoIA of Georgia and Ketevan Gomelauri, former Deputy Chairperson of the Public Service Development Agency of Georgia. Discussions focused on institutional coordination mechanisms, document security reforms, migration management, asylum systems, and the practical challenges encountered throughout the visa liberalization process. PMCG Armenia, incorporated entity established earlier this year, played a key role in stakeholder engagement and coordination.
The discussion created an opportunity to explore pathways for strengthening cooperation between Armenia and the European Union and ensuring the effective implementation of reforms that contribute to enhanced mobility, governance, and regional integration. By sharing lessons learned from Georgia and Moldova, PMCG aims to support Armenia in navigating its own reform path, strengthening governance systems, and advancing closer cooperation with the European Union.

Building on the insights generated through this study, PMCG Armenia, with the support of the whole PMCG network, will continue supporting the country’s reform agenda through analytical work, policy recommendations, and technical assistance, contributing to the effective implementation of future visa liberalization and EU integration reforms.
We thank our partners at Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and all participants for their valuable engagement and insightful discussions.
