PMCG Enhancing Regional Trade and Connectivity in Central Asia

PMCG played a central role at the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Business Forum 2025, held in November in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. As a long-standing contributor to regional connectivity and trade reform, PMCG provided strategic insights on transforming CAREC transport corridors, particularly Corridor 2 and the Middle Corridor, into engines of economic growth. A highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by David Tsiklauri, Senior Advisor at PMCG and a leading CAREC advisor.

Organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) alongside the 24th CAREC Ministerial Conference, the Forum convened leaders from governments, development institutions, and the private sector to explore how deeper cooperation, innovation, and private sector integration could reshape regional value chains. The 2025 agenda focused on opportunities in digital trade, logistics modernization, green energy, e-commerce, and sustainable transport, all closely connected to the growing importance of the Middle Corridor.

David Tsiklauri’s Keynote: Unlocking Growth Sectors and Private Sector Potential

As a keynote speaker, David Tsiklauri delivered a forward-looking presentation on “Key Growth Sectors and Emerging Investment Opportunities for the Private Sector.” He highlighted the rapid expansion of e-commerce across Central Asia, the regulatory and logistical barriers shaping its development, and the potential for companies to harness improved connectivity along the Middle Corridor. He also outlined opportunities in agriculture and agri-tech, emphasizing how technology-driven solutions are transforming productivity, sustainability, and export competitiveness across the region.

Insights from the Forum

Over the Forum, approximately 150 participants examined practical approaches to improving multimodal transport, transit facilitation, PPP development, smart logistics, and investment readiness across the CAREC region. The discussions centered on advancing reforms that strengthen efficiency, resilience, and sustainability in regional value chains.

PMCG’s Broader Contribution to Regional Trade and Connectivity

PMCG’s engagement at the Forum demonstrated its leadership in advancing trade system reforms, enhancing regulatory environments, and supporting governments in optimizing regional corridors such as the Middle Corridor. PMCG also works closely with the private sector to improve competitiveness by identifying bottlenecks, supporting compliance with international standards, and strengthening logistics and supply chain performance.

Driving Regional Cooperation and Economic Integration

Through its participation in the CAREC Business Forum 2025, PMCG reaffirmed its commitment to evidence-based reform, cross-border cooperation, and the development of a more integrated and competitive regional economy. As the Middle Corridor continues to expand its role in Eurasian trade, PMCG remains dedicated to helping governments and businesses unlock new opportunities and advance sustainable economic growth across Central Asia.
