Nikoloz Nepharidze
Nikoloz Nepharidze is an experienced health and safety specialist with a proven track record spanning over two decades of dedicated involvement in projects throughout Georgia.
As a health and safety expert, Nepharidze ensures strict compliance to relevant contractual standards in occupational health, safety, environmental well-being, and social health, including ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 requirements. He has also held key roles in planning and executing strategic initiatives within the environmental health and safety domain, collaborating closely with international financial institutions (IFIs) such as the EBRD, the ADB, USAID, KfW, and the World Bank.
Presently, Nepharidze leads the environmental health and safety team in the ongoing Urban Services Improvement Investment Program (USIIP). Here, he directs efforts toward enhancing the health and living conditions of people in Marneuli, Bolnisi, and Chiatura municipalities. He has comprehensive oversight of the United Water Supply Company of Georgia (UWSCG) as well, ensuring the proper fulfilment of environmental and health and safety management plans across all municipalities involving audits, monitoring surveys, as well as the introduction of gender-inclusive health and safety policy measures and targeted mitigation measures.
Nepharidze has also contributed to numerous UWSCG projects over the years. Notable projects here have involved sewage facilities, wastewater treatment plants, watershed developments, and other strategic infrastructure undertakings.
Beyond his private sector involvement, Nepharidze is very familiar with Georgian public institutions, having nearly ten years of experience of working in the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources.
