Supporting Water Policy Reform in Georgia

17.07.2019

We are collaborating with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure (MRDI) in order to enhance water and wastewater management system decentralization in Guria and Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions.

More specifically, PMCG will collect primary and secondary data related to the water policy and wastewater management in Georgia with a particular focus on Guria and Mtskheta-Mtianeti regions.

This project is designed to make a significant step forward in meeting targets defined by the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, aiming to ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

“Water and wastewater management system decentralization is a very challenging task not only for Georgia, but for the rest of the world. This project will hugely contribute to decentralization of water management system and make it more reliable and effective,” said Zurab Jikia, Consultant at PMCG.

This project is being implemented by PMCG under the USAID-funded Good Governance Initiative (GGI).
