PMCG has begun implementing a new project commissioned by the Environmental Project Implementation Unit (EPIU) under the Ministry of Environment of Armenia, aimed at strengthening agricultural value chains across the country. Under this assignment, PMCG is providing international expertise to guide comprehensive value chain assessments, capacity development, and planning processes that contribute to more resilient, efficient, and inclusive market systems.
In this role, PMCG works closely with EPIU to ensure that all analyses, methodologies, and tools align with international best practices and national development priorities. The work includes value chain mapping in target communities and the preparation of gender and social assessments. It also involves identifying systemic gaps, assessing market opportunities, and developing tailored improvement strategies. The project places strong emphasis on capacity building for women and youth. This supports their active participation in value chain development and strengthens local coordination mechanisms.
As part of the assignment, PMCG will deliver several key outputs. These include baseline assessments, gender and social analysis reports, and comprehensive value chain development plans. Additional deliverables include effectiveness estimation tools and a portfolio of four business plans. Two of these plans will focus specifically on women-led value chains. The expert team will also conduct targeted trainings, workshops, and consultations. These activities will strengthen stakeholders’ knowledge and practical skills in value chain development and management.
Through this consultancy, PMCG contributes to the development of sustainable and inclusive agricultural value chains in Armenia. The project will help local communities increase productivity and access new markets. It will also strengthen economic resilience. Overall, the intervention supports long-term development outcomes, private sector engagement, and inclusive growth across the sector.
