The Greennovation Acceleration Program supports startups and MSMEs in Georgia to adopt green and digital business models. PMCG Research leads the initiative under a UNDP project “Greening the Future: Advancing Rights and Stability”, that promotes sustainable development and economic resilience. The program focuses on businesses connected to Poti and Khobi, helping them overcome barriers such as limited financing, skills gaps, and low exposure to innovation practices. By combining practical tools with targeted support, the Greennovation Acceleration Program enables enterprises to compete in a rapidly evolving market.
Structured Support for Business Transformation
The program follows a clear and structured process that guides participants from selection to implementation. It begins with a transparent selection system that identifies high-potential startups and MSMEs. Criteria include innovation, local relevance, and the ability to deliver measurable impact. Selected businesses then enter a comprehensive acceleration phase, where they gain hands-on knowledge in green and digital transformation. This approach ensures that each participant builds a strong and actionable business strategy.
Greennovation Acceleration Program Training Approach
The 16-week acceleration phase forms the core of the initiative. It delivers practical training sessions, mentoring, and expert-led discussions. Participants explore topics such as sustainable development goals, green innovation, digital tools, and inclusive business practices. In addition, the program promotes peer learning and collaboration among businesses. This method helps participants refine their ideas and apply new knowledge directly to their operations.
Mentoring, Networking, and Financial Support
Mentoring plays a central role in the Greennovation Acceleration Program. Businesses receive one-on-one guidance along with group support from industry experts and ecosystem leaders. These interactions strengthen business models and improve readiness for investment. At the end of the acceleration phase, participants present their ideas during a competitive Pitch Day. The top-performing businesses receive grant funding to implement their solutions, which encourages real-world impact and innovation.
Long-Term Impact and Expected Results
The program continues to support selected businesses even after funding decisions. Ongoing mentoring and monitoring ensure that companies implement their projects effectively and achieve measurable outcomes. The Greennovation Acceleration Program aims to strengthen MSME capacity, improve business models, and foster sustainable economic growth in Poti and Khobi. It also builds stronger connections between businesses, investors, and local stakeholders. As a result, participating enterprises contribute to a more resilient, inclusive, and environmentally responsible economy.
