Gender Technical Facility – Burundi

The specific objective of the project is to improve and strengthen the consideration of gender issues in European Union programs in Burundi by monitoring the implementation of GAP III by the EU Delegation and its member states.

PMCG is supporting the EU Delegation to undertake the action plan on gender equality (Country Level Implementation Plan – 2021-2025). Moreover, PMCG, in partnership with B&S Europe, is working alongside various actors, including Member States, in order to embolden the coherence and harmonization of the approaches, to boost efficiency in implementation, and ensure best practices.

In the scope of this project, PMCG is focusing its efforts on the following areas:

• Monitoring and Evaluation – Helping to establish a harmonized monitoring and evaluation framework for EU-funded actions.
• Technical Assistance – Providingtechnical assistance and advice to the EU Delegation of and implementing partners, with particular regard to gender equality issues as well as communication and visibility. Proposals for concrete technical solutions are being prepared by experts in order to adjust the programs if one or more components cannot be carried out following a change in the context.
• Coordination – Coordinating and making sure of regular dialogue between various stakeholders. The lead expert is responsible for organizing meetings and coordinating the gender cluster. Communication and visibility actions are supported, with increased coordination in terms of risk management and crisis communication, if necessary.
