This project primarily entails an extensive review of the feasibility of introducing online language training programs to vocational education and training (VET) students in Egypt.

Studies to determine what a practical framework might look like here entail an evaluation of current and potential tuition models including online language courses, and then issuing recommendations on how best to effectively implement English, German, and/or Italian language training.

The overriding objective of the study is to increase the employability of Egyptian VET students at the international level.

Specifically, in the course of the project, PMCG, as a subcontractor of the Office for Economic Policy and Regional Development (EPRD), will be involved to varying degrees in the following stages:

  • Elaborating a methodology and finalizing an agreement with the European Training Foundation (ETF);
  • Completing desk research and engaging with stakeholders to ascertain the current models of online language training for VET students in Egypt;
  • Conducting a feasibility study on the implementation of language courses tailored to the Egyptian VET system, and presenting its findings at a workshop for Egyptian stakeholders;
  • Finalizing recommendations for a feasible model of online language training for Egyptian VET students; and
  • Translating these recommendations into Arabic and presenting them to key stakeholders.

Ultimately, the successful delivery of the outputs listed above is expected to lead to the establishment of a practical and effective framework for online language training among VET students in Egypt, thereby enhancing their proficiency in world languages such as English, German, and Italian, and boosting their employment prospects at home and abroad.
