PMCG Together with other European Companies Hosted the Conference for Communications Policy and Regulatory Development Project in Georgia
On 10th July 2013, PMCG, with The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and other European companies, hosted a conference sponsored by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) at the Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel, Tbilisi.
The conference was an important part of the project entitled – “Communications Policy and Regulatory Development in Georgia”. The consortium led by J. Kanervisto Consultants (Finland) with its partners Great Village International Consultants Inc. (Canada), Cullen International SA (Belgium) and Policy and Management Consulting Group (Georgia) are implementing EBRD funded technical assistance to the Ministry of Economic and Sustainable Development and the Georgian National Communications Commission.
The objectives of the conference were:

- · To discuss policy and investment priorities in Georgia;
- · To present proposals for revision of policy and legislation to better match investment priorities; and,
- · To consult sector stakeholders on the proposed revisions
The ultimate aims of the communications policy are to promote innovation, maximize investment and achieve the Government’s society objectives. The proposed new policy has been developed to better support the role of the electronic communications sector as a catalyst for broader innovation and economic growth in Georgia.
