PMCG is Working on the IAEA’s Project ‘Model for Analysis of Energy Demand (MAED)’
PMCG has joined the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) project Model for Analysis of Energy Demand (MAED). PMCG’s representative is participating in a one month training program which is held at the head office of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria. MAED model is used to evaluate future energy demand based on medium to long-term scenarios of socio-economic, technological and demographic development.
PMCG is participating in this program together with the National Statistics Office of Georgia and the Ministry of Energy of Georgia. All these institutions, including PMCG, are members of the state Task Force at the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources of Georgia which is working on the project supporting the development of a National Infrastructure for the Potential Application of Nuclear Energy in Georgia.
The Model for Analysis of Energy Demand (MAED) will be followed up by a training course in MASSAGE -Model for Energy Supply System Alternatives and their General Environmental – which is used to formulate optimal energy supply strategy for particular countries.
