PMCG is Supporting JICA in Regional Development Project

18.03.2012

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is conducting a Study on “Roadside Stations” which are otherwise known as “Michi-no-Eki” in many countries. PMCG has been sub-contracted by ExeIdea Ltd (JICA’s Prime contractor) in this assignment to provide its consultancy in regional development.

The objective of this assignment is to study the possibility of replicating the concept of the “Roadside Stations” in Georgia which have contributed to regional development in many countries through empowering and generating income for local communities. In addition, the study will pay particular attention to the on-going Government plan for the establishment of Rest Areas on the East-West Highway, and assure that the study will complement the Government plan or to help the Government to incorporate some features of the “Roadside Stations” into the Plan so as to increase the regional development impact.
