Discussing the Challenges Facing the Creative Industries Development in Georgia

On July 15, we presented a policy document entitled “Challenges for the Development of Creative Industries in Georgia” and subsequently held a discussion about piracy, which represents one of the major challenges in the development of creative industries in Georgia, and the ways in which this might be addressed.

The meeting was held in the form of a dialogue between public and private sectors, involving lawmakers, representatives of the executive and judiciary, intellectual property policymakers and regulators in the field of broadcasting and electronic communications, industry experts, and representatives of the private sector and international organizations.

The event was conducted in the course of USAID’s Economic Security Program, which is being implemented by PMCG as part of a consortium led by DAI.
