Nurilla Abdushukurov
Nurilla Abdushukurov is a Connectivity Associate involved in the USAID Trade Central Asia Activity.
He graduated from Westminster International University in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance (1st class honors). After graduating, he launched his career in the public sector by joining the State Investments Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan in April 2018, which the following January was transformed into the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During his four years in the public sector (2018-2022), he gained extensive experience and knowledge by taking part in the implementation of several priority tasks, international projects, and development strategies of the Uzbek government. His time in the public sector helped him to write and publish a research paper concerning the impact of currency crises on economic growth and FDI in one of the most prestigious economics journals of the Russian Federation in 2019.
Since October 2022, he has been working as a National Connectivity Associate in the USAID Trade Central Asia Activity, where he mainly contributes to the day-to-day implementation of activities in Uzbekistan at the national level. Primarily, he supports the work of the Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) and Regional Trade Development (RTD) components, aimed at increasing multi-sector engagement on cross-border trade and improving cross-border firm-to-firm connectivity, as well as providing assistance in the facilitation and implementation of other cross-cutting activities (e.g., WTO accession support, SME development, and trade promotion events) in Uzbekistan.
