Medet Tursaliev

Medet Tursaliev is a Customs and Borders Team Lead in the USAID Trade Central Asia Activity.

He is an experienced program manager with a demonstrable history of working in international trade and cooperation and homeland security issues. Since 2014, he has been involved in the implementation of projects related to coordinated border management, customs reforms, trade facilitation, and capacity-building initiatives of the border agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Serbia, Ukraine, and Bangladesh. He has worked with numerous international organizations such as the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the World Customs Organization. He is particularly skilled in issues related to the implementation of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement by relevant customs administrations.

Tursaliev has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the American University in Central Asia and a master’s degree in Management from Kyrgyz State Technical University. 

He is fluent in Russian, Kyrgyz, and English.
