Sharing Experience of Visegrad Countries’ EU Economic Integration and Georgia’s Institutional Reforms for Albania and Kosovo
As part of its ongoing support to Albania and Kosovo to develop business enabling environments and economic growth, on February 5, Aleksi Aleksishvili, General Director at Policy and Management Consulting Group (PMCG) together with Arben Malaj, former Minister of Finance of Albania, conducted a workshop in Tirana.
Aleksishvili presented the steps Georgia has implemented in the process of reforming tax, customs and trade policy to experts, high-level practitioners and officials from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo and Albania. Participants discussed the challenges that Georgia has faced and the opportunities created by the reforms.
The event served as the key event of the project “Sharing experience of Visegrad countries’ EU economic integration for Albania and Kosovo.” The project is being implemented by PMCG in collaboration with the Institute of Public Policy and Good Governance (IPPM) and in partnership with forTED, EUROPEUM, Hungarian Europe Society, M.E.S.A10 and with the support of International Visegrad Fund.
“Such collaboration is very interesting and this is a fruitful event for sharing the experience of countries from Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and the Caucasus. With different stages of development, the issue of integration to the EU and economic development and growth is crucially important for all of these states. We should learn from, and share with, each other to make this path smooth and successful,” explained Aleksishvili.
