George Abashidze
George Abashidze is a Private/Public Sector Programs Consultant, engaged in the USAID Local Governance Program.
He has over 10 years’ experience of working on trade facilitation, public sector consulting, project management, private sector development, business environment improvement, strategic business management, accounting and finance, and industry analysis and research.
Abashidze also has also worked extensively with the private sector in Georgia, completing assignments in this area since 2019. In addition, he has contributed to the projects and initiatives of various international institutions including USAID, UNDP, UNIDO, and ADC. Specifically, he has been a key part of projects under the USAID Economic Security Program, cooperating with the private sector and supporting actors therein to solve problems. Indeed, he partook in the very first phase of the Economic Security Program, where his main responsibilities entailed studying domestic, regional, and international market demand through examining international trade data analysis, export and global market size growth trends, domestic production, and sales data, as well as import trends in competing products.
Abashidze holds an MA degree in Economics from the International School of Economics at Tbilisi State University (ISET), and a BA degree in Mathematics from Tbilisi State University.
