George Khabelashvili
George Khabelashvili has 18 years of experience in public service, specializing in diplomacy, economic development, and investment promotion, including five years in overseas missions in China and South Korea.
He has a proven track record of implementing institutional, regulatory, and legal reforms, with extensive spells at the Georgian National Investment Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
Khabelashvili’s career to date has also featured impressive contributions to economic development, while he has acquired a deep understanding of investment promotion and how to implement reforms successfully. He has also been instrumental in disseminating and championing best practices in the sphere of public administration.
While working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Director of the Department for Americas), he shared Georgia’s lauded reform experience (especially in e-government and public services) and promoted cooperation between specialist agencies. He is also proficient in managing medium-sized teams, projects, and investor relations.
Khabelashvili has a master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the School of Economics and Commercial Law at the University of Göteborg in Sweden.
