Lasha Labadze
Lasha Labadze holds the position of Sector Lead of Economic Policy, Economic Governance, and Public Finance Management at PMCG.
He has over a decade of experience in delivering economic policy consulting and training services in projects supported by international organizations such as USAID, WB, UNFPA, OSI, and GIZ.
After beginning his professional career in 2008 as a researcher at ISET. Thereafter, from 2011 to 2014, he served as Deputy Director at one of Georgia’s leading economic think tanks, the ISET Policy Institute (ISET-PI). where he went on to become Executive Director from 2015 to 2017. He played a key role in establishing ISET’s BA Program in Economics and was its program co-director before joining the American University of the Middle East (AUM) in Kuwait in 2018 where he held multiple positions.
As associate professor at the AUM, he led the Finance and Economics Department and coordinated the Research Committee. His research interests are diverse, but primarily focus on economic governance, economic modeling, labor economics, gender economics, and education economics.
He holds a PhD in Economics from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (2015) and a master’s degree in Economics from ISET (2008). He is fluent in English.
