Contributing to Public Administration Reform in Georgia
This March, we conducted trainings for the staff of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia as part of the project “Training and Consultation Support (TCS) in Public Policy to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development (MoESD),” which is being implemented under UNDP’s initiative “Supporting Public Administration Reform in Georgia – Phase 2.”
The training sessions covered topics such as public policy planning and analysis, implementation and monitoring, as well as gender mainstreaming in public policymaking. The sessions were in line with the Government’s policy planning and coordination framework, which was approved in 2019.
“The training course was interesting, informative and interactive. As a result of the training, I received the necessary information about the policy planning, development, monitoring and evaluation processes, allowing me to properly plan future activities and define goals, objectives, activities, and relevant outcome indicators. This, in turn, will improve the activities of the Ministry,” said one of the training participants.
The project aims to increase the capacity of the MoESD through a series of capacity-building measures on effective planning and implementation of evidence-based, participatory, and accountable public policy, as well as adapting and carrying out relevant training programs.
Through its initiative “Supporting Public Administration Reform in Georgia – Phase 2” (PAR 2), UNDP Georgia continues to support the AoG and individual ministries to enhance their capacities further and equip them with necessary tools to develop evidence-based, participatory, and effective public policies
