Supporting the Ministry of Finance (MoF) of the Kyrgyz Republic to Reform Public Financial Management (PFM)
We are collaborating with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in its pursuit of sustainable growth through developing effective budget planning, implementation and monitoring as well as increasing its budget transparency.
Indeed, we have been identifying strengths to build on and weaknesses to address across its whole public financial management (PFM) system.
On June 6, we conducted a webinar for representatives of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) of the Kyrgyz Republic in order to share experiences of economic transformation in countries in transition, specifically by introducing crucial components of Georgia’s budgetary system reforms.
“We heard a lot about the reforms successfully implemented in Georgia. We have shown our interest in budget reform as we are facing similar challenges in the process of improving the budgeting process; that is why the webinar was really very useful for us,” said Almazbek Azimov, the Deputy Minister of Finance.
The webinar was conducted as part of the project “Improving Program-Based Budgeting and Budget Investment Planning, Including Improvements in Sectoral Expenditure Planning,” which is funded by the Multi-Donor Trust Fund and is being implemented by PMCG.
