Building Capacity of Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI) in Research

We recently launched a new project aiming to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the research conducted by the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI).

The project will enhance the capacity of trainees in conducting research by developing their skills in data gathering, polling, as well as surveying and sampling methods. In addition, they will also learn about applying quantitative and qualitative analysis methods and data compilation tools via information and communication technologies (ICT), and the basic principles of cost-benefit analysis as an effective decision support framework.

“In order for the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI) to efficiently plan and carry out projects, it is essential for it to correctly identify the specific needs and issues of the regions of Georgia. In this regard, conducting public opinion polls and surveying the target population could be key to success,” said Tamar Khoshtaria, Consultant at PMCG.

Moreover, we will conduct a follow-up workshop to measure the progress made by trainees and provide corresponding recommendations for the design of similar training activities in the future.

This project is being implemented by PMCG under the USAID-funded Good Governance Initiative (GGI).
