Supporting the Budget and Finance Committee of the Parliament of Georgia to Enhance Communication with Citizens
We recently finished assisting the Budget and Finance Committee of the Parliament of Georgia in developing strategic development, action and communication plans for 2018-2019.
The main objectives of the project were to support the committee to define its goals and plan its activities, as well as to enhance its communication with stakeholders and citizens.
After identifying the main strengths and challenges , we elaborated a strategy consisting of five main areas: budgeting process; law-making functions; oversight functions; organizational development; and communication.
“The strategy and action plan development was a collaborative process and effort between the committee members, committee staff and the committee’s stakeholders. The collaboration really showed that all involved sides are ready and willing for further development and application of the strategic thinking approach,” said Ms. Lela Machaidze, PMCG’s Strategic Planning Expert.
The project was implemented by PMCG, as part of a consortium led by Tetra Tech ARD, under the USAID-funded Good Governance Initiative (GGI).
