Supporting Introduction of Performance Appraisal System in the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, its Subordinated Agencies and Three Municipalities

05-Feb-2018
Start Date:
January, 2018
End Date: April, 2018
Region: Caucasus
Country: Georgia
Client:

The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia

Origin of Funding:

USAID / GGI

Project Description:

PMCG, as part of a consortium led by Tetra Tech ARD, within the USAID-funded Good Governance Initiative (GGI), is supporting the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) in the development of a performance evaluation framework.

After the recent adoption of the new Civil Service Law, performance appraisal has been made compulsory for all agencies of the Government of Georgia (GoG) at all levels.

The objective of PMCG’s collaboration is to assist the CSB to establish an effective performance management system in Georgia. More specifically, the project team is working with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia and its subordinated agencies, as well as with GGI’s partner municipalities (Kutaisi, Batumi, and Akhaltsikhe).

In order to reach its objective, PMCG is cooperating with the Ministry and relevant agencies to raise awareness about the importance of, and need for, improved human resources (HR) policy. In this regard, PMCG is conducting trainings covering the performance appraisal system, communication, leadership and other subjects related to personal development.

The performance appraisal framework and guidelines will also be designed to facilitate the introduction of the performance appraisal system.
